What it is
Being the answer, not just a link.
When someone asks an AI assistant a question, it doesn’t hand back ten blue links — it writes one answer, and sometimes names a few businesses or cites a few sources. AI visibility is simply whether your business is one of them.
It’s a different question from “where do I rank on Google.” You can rank well and still never get mentioned in an AI answer — or get cited by an assistant for a page that isn’t even on page one. So we measure it for you on its own terms.
Why now
Invisible to the assistants is the new page-2 of Google.
For years, being on page two of the search results meant being invisible — the clicks went to page one. The same thing is happening again, one layer up. As more searches end at an AI answer, the businesses that answer names are the ones that get found. The rest simply aren’t in the room.
People increasingly trust the assistant’s single answer instead of comparing a list — so being named carries more weight than a middling ranking used to.
It’s a blind spot for most tools. They report search rankings and stop there, so you can be losing ground in AI answers without a single number telling you.
You can’t fix what you can’t see. Measuring it is the first step; once it’s a number, it’s something you can actually move.
How we measure it
A real count, with the sample size shown.
Plenty of tools will hand you a confident-looking “AI visibility score” out of 100 and never tell you what’s behind it. We don’t. Here’s exactly what we do instead.
- 01
We ask the questions your customers ask
We take the topics your business is about and turn them into the kinds of questions real people type into an assistant — in each language you serve. Then we actually ask them.
- 02
We check who gets named — and cited
For every answer, we look at two things: did the assistant mention your business by name, and did it link to your site as a source. Both matter, and we record them separately.
- 03
We report a rate, with its sample size
You see something like “named in 6 of 20 answers” — a plain count and the number of questions behind it. When the sample is small, you can see that too, so you never mistake noise for a trend.
We report it per language, because visibility in one market says nothing about another. And if the data only supports a modest claim, we make the modest claim — no “you’re #1” theatre, no smoothing over a small sample.
How you improve it
The work that makes assistants pick you.
Once you can see the rate, you can raise it. There’s no trick to it — assistants cite pages they can read, understand and quote easily. We do that work for you.
Say who you are, clearly
An assistant will only name a business it can clearly identify. We spell out what you do, what you offer and who you serve — so it can quote you with confidence instead of guessing.
Make sure AI can reach you
An assistant can only cite a page it can actually read. We find and fix what shuts AI out or buries your pages, so the answers can get to your content in the first place.
Answer the question up front
Assistants pull from pages that answer a question directly and plainly. We write your content so the answer comes first, making your page the easiest one to quote.
